Therion adorned the stage with their grand presence - some eight people, four of whom were vocalists! However, the Mean Fiddler was large enough to generously accommodate them all and each of the members moved around on stage somewhat majestically,

The Vikings Amon Amarth were back in London for the second time in a matter of months. Still, their arrival was welcomed at such a volume, illustrating the demand for these melodic death metal icons. The Swedes opened the setlist with 'Valhall Awaits Me' from the new opus With Oden On Our Side.

If anyone knows their extreme metal then they surely must know Rotting Christ well. Constantly experimenting with style, this Greek band is yet to put out a poor release. As frontman Sakis and company took the stage, there was an intense roar from the audience.

First to hit the stage were the Swedes, Sabaton. Their image was an excellent representation of the beefy metal they would boast, with all of the members wearing matching army-style camouflage trousers.

By the sheer multitude to Wintersun shirts already in the audience it was clear that Amon Amarth were not the only band people came to see and their supports were not some sub-par band. This Finnish extreme power metal quartet came on to the Scala's stage, greeted by a hail of admiring cheers.
