Local band Todger, a local rock and roll seven peace with two gospel backing vocalists open up the show. Their aviator sunglasses and bedecked jackets with classic rock structured songs were slowly building up tonight’s atmosphere in a charming way. Tracks such as “Bellows and Moans” and “Technological Arm” get the crowd swimming amongst their own joy. The dirty blues sound would even have a rocked out Elvis shouting “Hell Yeah baby” it was just a shame the venue was a little too rich for these rock squatters! Next on was Kamikaze Test Pilots, a bouncy act with the subtle influx on African rhythms. These guys performed with consistent skill whilst being totally interactive, enticing tonight’s crowd with the funky “Kenny Rogers”, one to watch. Finally, Progressive Metal act 7th Floor don the stage. This five piece offer an innovative fusion of dynamics, accumulating into a wave of melodic sound as soon they hit the first notes. Emotions dip down into gradual doom before picking up into more swathes of beauty aided by Freya’s keyboard playing. The overall finishing is carried out with some amazing bass line by George and beautiful chorus sound of Freya’s keyboard. A rather hopeful yet great inclusion of a Dream Theater cover gets this crowd clapping at the end. Reviewed by Asif Salam Photography by Asif Salam
