Tackle The Walrus

Valient Thorr have been obtaining a growing fan base for several years and now is the time to discover these hairy, dirty, sweaty rockers.  Full tilt, balls out rock is their game and damn do they do it well.

“Herbie Abernethy's” gruff vocals slap you round the face and force you to pay attention.  If anyone fails to be amazed by the tastiness of the riffs they churn out then they clearly do not have a soul and should be sacrificed to ‘Thorr’ immediately.   Some songs even have an early thrash vibe to them in the way the riffs sound.  As fantastic as Immortalizer is, it is in a live setting where Valient Thorr really shine.  Beer fuelled madness is the only way that it can be described.

My personal highlight to the album is the hilariously titled “Tackle The Walrus” showing Valient Thorrs brilliant sense of humour.  There are several bands that are playing good old-fashioned rock in the way it should be played, “Orange Goblin” are probably at the top of the league when it comes to that, but Valient Thorr are capable of being even bigger than them due to their slightly more commercialised sound. Anyone that has a love for old-fashioned rock will adore this album.  But don’t just take my word for it. Go and get it…..Go on.
