Preston’s FAILSAFE have completed their first ever music video for their new single “Hope”, released November 3rd. Directed by Craig Young, the band spent 14 hours playing in front of a seemingly brain dead audience, before a climatic, tele-smashing end. Singer James Norris explains: "Craig has a really funny clip of me trying to smash the TV on the floor for the first time. We were really conscious of trying not to hurt the people sat in front of me, or me severing my toes, so we had a couple of practice runs before we actually went for it. Everything was in place, the cameras were rolling, everyone’s eyes were on the screen as I hoisted it above my head, it was a pretty cool feeling - I’ve never had so much Samsung at my disposal before! As I smashed it to the ground there was a very anti climactic thud as it hit the cold concrete and somehow, 37 inches of TV managed to spin itself around and land perfectly on its feet, as if I'd placed it there ready to hook it up with some Futurama! “Im so glad it was on camera- the ultimate rock cliché massacred by my good self. It’s OK though, I smashed the living hell out of it with the next two takes” Bouncing Tele’s not withstanding, the band are very pleased with the final cut: “The experience was great for us, it was exciting and fresh, it was like playing a 14 hour show. We gave it everything and probably sweat enough to sink a small ship between us. Working with Craig was awesome too- he's got it looking like a hollywood blockbuster."
